Looking for an unforgettable holiday in Savoie this winter? Discover its snowparks! This American concept, which arrived in France in the 1990s, is now very popular. On a specially designed ski slope, snowboarders can perform sometimes complex tricks. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned expert, intense sensations and snowy landscapes are guaranteed for magical moments. Here is a selection of snowparks you must visit in the Savoie region.

Les Arcs

The resort of Les Arcs invites you to a unique experience at 3,000 m in the Paradiski area. Covering 14,390 hectares, the area has spaces for both beginners and experienced skiers looking for advanced challenges. You will see that the difficulty levels are marked by specific lines for a safe activity.

To reach the snowpark, first take the Cachettes chairlift up to the Belvédère slope, then take the Vagère chairlift. Finally, follow the Arpette to reach the runs.

Tignes – Val d’Isère

This prestigious resort has an international reputation. It hosted the X Games from 2010 to 2013. Professionals come here to prepare for competitions. Behind the snowpark is Ravach Parks, a golden name in this field of expertise. You can explore 4 distinct lines, each matching a precise level:

  • Easy Park 1: basic level
  • Easy Park 2: intermediate level
  • SnowPark Expert: a line of three red tables, a double-kicker line of three black tables (L, XL), plus a red rail line and a black rail line
  • Boardercross du Palet: 1.2 km long with several impressive turns and whoops

Méribel

The DC area 43 snowpark in Méribel is an essential reference. It was created thanks to investment from the American brand DC Shoes. Bringing in experienced shapers, the brand built an incredible snowpark. It covers 15 hectares, with runs for novices, experienced snowboarders and seasoned experts. To get there, take the 6-seater Châtelet chairlift. Then board the Plattières gondola and enjoy a run stretching over more than 1,000 metres.

Val Thorens

When it comes to naming the best snowparks in France, Val Thorens undoubtedly tops the podium. It is the right choice if you want to practise freestyle snowboarding. It is part of the 3 Vallées ski area and covers an impressive 70,000 m². Whether you want to improve or simply discover the world of snowboarding, this versatile area is designed to give you an unforgettable experience.

SébastienSébastien’s tip

If it is your first freestyle session, start with the Easy Park in Tignes or the beginner zones in Les Arcs before trying the more technical features in Val Thorens or Méribel: progress is much safer if you step up the difficulty little by little.
