Between Les Arcs, La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry, the Tarentaise offers several runs for sledging<\/strong> on the snow, with family or friends.<\/p>\n

A family run in Arc 1800, a sporty run in Arc 2000, a free area for toddlers in Vallandry, the Colorado Luge in La Plagne: there is a descent for everyone.<\/p>\n

From our campsite in Savoie<\/a>, in Landry, allow about 15 minutes to Les Arcs and 20 minutes to La Plagne. This overview details each run so you can plan your sledging in the Tarentaise<\/strong> with no surprises on the day.<\/p>\n

Snow sledging runs in Les Arcs<\/h2>\n

In Les Arcs, 2 snow sledging runs<\/strong> cater for different audiences, from young children with an adult to thrill-seekers.<\/p>\n

Luge 1800, the family run in Arc 1800<\/h3>\n

In Arc 1800, the Luge 1800 run descends about 900 metres<\/strong>, with banked bends and forest sections, plus a video tunnel at the finish.<\/p>\n

It is open from age 3<\/strong>, on a two-seater sledge up to age 7, with an adult. Prices start at \u20ac9 per run<\/strong>, free for accompanied children.<\/p>\n

Access is via the Villards gondola<\/strong>, from the Arc 1800 snowfront.<\/p>\n

Luge 2000, the sporty run in Arc 2000<\/h3>\n

Reserved for thrill-seekers, the Luge 2000 run unrolls 3 kilometres of banked bends<\/strong>, starting from the Col de la Chal<\/strong>, in Arc 2000.<\/p>\n

The minimum age is 12<\/strong>, with a minimum height of 1.35 metres; helmet and sledge are provided on site. Prices start at \u20ac14 per run<\/strong>. Children aged 12 and 13 must be accompanied by an adult on the run.<\/p>\n

Good to know: in Arc 1800, it is best to arrive late in the afternoon to enjoy the light effects in the video tunnel, a memory children love. On the Luge 2000, sharp-eyed riders sometimes spot Mont Blanc in the distance between the banked bends, on the most open sections.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sledging in La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry<\/h2>\n

In La Plagne and Peisey-Vallandry, several areas complete the offer, from supervised runs to free zones for the youngest.<\/p>\n

Colorado Luge and the Plagne Montalbert run<\/h3>\n

In Plagne Centre, the Colorado Luge offers a 1.5-kilometre descent<\/strong> at the foot of the chairlift of the same name, with a minimum height of 1.40 metres and prices from \u20ac11 per run.<\/p>\n

No booking is needed, you simply turn up. In Plagne Montalbert, a free, open-access sledging run welcomes children aged 2 to 12<\/strong>, near the tourist office, under adult supervision.<\/p>\n

The children’s sledging area in Vallandry<\/h3>\n

In Peisey-Vallandry, the Vallandry children’s sledging area offers a gentle, secure slope<\/strong>, designed for little ones from age 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Access is free<\/strong> and helmets are compulsory, under the constant supervision of a parent. This area suits families discovering sledging in the Tarentaise<\/strong>, before trying the sportier runs in Les Arcs.<\/p>\n
